The 2-Step Bronze

Attention all eyeshadow-phobes or '5 minutes tops' makeup mavens who are in a hurry: I have a 2-step eyeshadow look that will suit you all. Behold, The Bronze. We all know that between the struggle to blend and the honest cluelessness when it comes to what goes where on the eyes, creating a nice bit of depth and colour on the lids is harder than it looks. I'm all about keeping things pretty simple when it comes to makeup and I think I've hit the jackpot here. My favourite eye look has to be a 'glamazon bronze,' and I've found a full-proof combo that promises to fit the bill.

Before delving into application, products and what-not, I'm gonna stomp my foot down here and say if you want to make a solid effort with eyeshadow, you're going to need a trusty sidekick in the form of a blending brush. Without one, I'd be a downright mess - harsh edges around the outer corners of my lids and no gradient transition when fading out shades. My picks: the Sigma Blending E25 Brush, or the M.A.C 217 Brush, two notorious blenders in the beauty world. Seriously, they take no makeup-expert to master and practically do all the work for you. Too easy.

Now, if you're after an eye look that's going to stick around for the whole day, a base is a must. The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze seems more than appropriate for this look and is such a no-fuss prod. The colour is absolutely beaut and could be swept across the lids alone for a 1-step Bronze if you're really pressed for time. However, taking it that extra mile with a shadow layered on top will really make your eyes pop (hah, what a poet) and adds a whole heap of intensity to the look. With Hazelnut from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette, we have a dynamic duo on the lids. Grab your blending brush and use the classic 'windscreen wiper motion,' working the shade into the crease. Did I mention how pigmented this colour was? Phwoah. Carry it along the lower lash line as well for a slightly more sultry feel - this step will really up the smokiness amp.

Hey presto, it's not looking too shabby if I don't say so myself. No excuses now when it comes to eyeshadow - have fun going bonkers for bronze.
