On The Hunt For A New Foundation? | L'Oréal True Match

Well, by the looks of my surroundings I think it's safe to say that today is Easter Sunday. By my surroundings, I mean the considerably large pile of foil egg-wrappers accumulating wherever I look (which would definitely help explain my chocolate baby and desperate need for elasticated gypsy pants). #YOLO. Amidst all this choc-binging and downright unhealthy snacking, the complexion forecast really isn't looking too great for me. I'm expecting a stormy pimple-aftermath in the next few days, but will be at the ready with one of my new, fave foundations to cover them all up.

The L'Oréal True Match Foundation is definitely a popular choice amongst many beauty fans. With the seasons changing, and my skin sitting somewhere on the fence between oily and dry, I wanted a classic formula with decent coverage. This foundation is just that. It's no Rimmel Wake Me Up with lots of sheen and glow, yet neither intensely matte on the skin. I've found this to be the perfect in-betweener, with a lovely, satin finish and ample staying power. I'm very impressed, but would love to go a few shades darker (pffft, who knew?) as for once I have actually purchased something a bit too light for my pale face.

Some foundations work best with a flat, standard brush, others blend seamlessly with hands, and this one fits the Real Techniques Buffing Brush category. This brush is a game-changer in any makeup routine, and replaces the streaky lines of a flat-brush with an undeniably flawless finish. P.S. If you end up using this everyday with your base, don't forget to wash it once a week! I'm such a slacker, and am taking hypocritical to a new level here, but the amount of germs that can build up will lead to some nasty breakouts!

Until next time...

  1. I have the Real Techniquees Expert Face Brush and it's the only one I use for foundation! I really want to try the buffing brush too though :) great post, I love this foundation. x
